Okumidori is a relatively modern cultivar, developed in the 1970s in Japan. It is widely cultivated in Uji, Kyoto, as well as Kagoshima and Shizuoka. Its flavor is well-balanced, offering a smooth, mellow umami with slight vegetal notes and minimal bitterness.
